Sam’s Sorrento Pizza owner Al Marino presented a check for $15,000 to Brian Bobek of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 at their Operation Christmas Dance held last Saturday at the Lempke-Blackwell Post 7573. Marino was invited to the event as a special “Guest of Honor.”

The Sorrento’s Support Our Troops campaign, had all 12 locations of Sorrento’s selling large pizzas in special camouflage boxes from Labor Day through Veterans Day.

“When I learned how much the VVA Chapter 154 helped Macomb County’s young servicemen and women of today, I knew this was the organization I wanted to help. I wanted my donation to stay local and help many military families and individuals,” Marino said. “I’m hoping I can run this campaign again next year.”
