This winter, the Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a photo contest to showcase the beauty of Shelby Township and its parks. Now is the time to utilize your talents and see how parks and recreation enhances the quality of life by capturing treasured moments within the community. The theme correlates with the Shelby PRM slogan, “We create community through people, parks, and programs”.

Submit your digital photos in any of the three categories: people, parks, or programs. Photos must be taken within Shelby Township’s limits, although both residents and non-residents are eligible to participate. One photo may be submitted per person, per category. Please e-mail photos to 

shelbyprm@shelbytwp.org

with a description of where it was taken and what category you would like it to be placed under.

The

first place winner from each category will receive their photo in an 8”x10” custom frame courtesy of The Great Frame Up. The three winning photos also will be displayed at the Shelby PRM office. The fi

rst place overall winning photo will be featured on an upcoming edition of the Shelby Township newsletter.

Winning photos will not only be submitted by local residents, but selected by them as well via the Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department’s Facebook page. Fans of our Facebook page will have the opportunity to vote by clicking the “like” button under a favorite photo in each category. You can become a fan by going to

www.facebook.com/shelbytwpparksandrec and clicking the “like” button. Photos will be uploaded the following day after the deadline to be judged through the month of January.
