Shelby Parks & Recreation Hosts Snowmobile Safety Class
Shelby Parks & Recreation will offer a snowmobile safety course on Saturday, Nov. 12.
A person who is at least 12 but less than 17 years of age without direct supervision of a person 21 years of age or older must have in their possession a valid snowmobile safety certificate. In addition, they may not cross a highway or street without immediate certificate proof. There are countless hazards associated with operating a snowmobile, and training is a crucial factor in safe, responsible, snowmobile operation. Adult snowmobile operators are strongly encouraged to boost their knowledge of the laws by registering for this course.
The one-day class will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Shelby Community Center, 51670 Van Dyke Ave., north of 23 Mile Road. You must register in advance. This class is taught by a Michigan DNR certified instructor. The fee is $15 for Shelby Township and Utica residents and $20 for non-residents.
Call Shelby Recreation at 586-731-0300 to register. Be sure to pack a sack lunch.
