2 Shelby Residents Charged in Nationwide Medicare Fraud Takedown
Two Shelby Township residents were charged Wednesday in a nationwide medicare fraud take down that yielded 107 arrests in seven cities.
Two Shelby Township residents were charged Wednesday for their roles in psychotherapy, home health care, and infusion therapy schemes to submit more than $58 million in false billing to Medicare, announced the Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services.
Sachin Sharma, 36, and Dana Sharma, 29, both of Shelby Township, along with Abdul Malik Al- Jumail, aka “Tony,” 52, of Brownstown and Felicar Williams, 49, of Dearborn were named in the same indictment.
All four were charged with conspiracy to commit health care fraud for their roles in a $23 million scheme to defraud Medicare by submitting fraudulent claims for home health care services and psychotherapy services. Three of them were also charged with conspiring to pay or receive illegal kickbacks.
The indictment alleges that the fraudulent claims were submitted by three home health agencies and an adult day care centers. The home health agencies operating in Madison Heights and Sterling Heights are: Reliance Home Care, LLC; First Choice Home Health Care Services, Inc.; and Associates in Home Care, Inc. The adult day care center operating in Detroit Michigan is Haven Adult Day Care Center, LLC.
USA Healthcare Guide named Sachin Sharma the CEO of Haven Adult Day Care Llc. in Shelby Township.
The charges in Detroit are part of a nationwide takedown by Medicare Fraud Strike Force operations in seven cities that led to charges against 107 individuals for their alleged participation in schemes to collectively submit more than $452 million in fraudulent claims to Medicare. The takedown involved the highest amount of false Medicare billing in a single takedown in strike force history.

Why couldn't they catch this sooner? all that money probably went back over to there
country where we can't get it.Our goverment should be checking more better into stuff
like this.I can't believe how much money is gone and we will never get it back.it's probably in another bank in another country most likely.This country is more in debt
