6 Eisenhower Lacrosse Players Earn All-State Awards
Six Eisenehower Lacrosse players have earned All-State awards.
The awards just keep coming for the Eisenhower Boys Lacrosse Team.
After winning the Macomb Area Conference Sportsmanship Award for dedicating the season to a player's sister who died from cancer earlier this year, six players earned All-State awards.
- 1st Team Special Teams – Senior Captain Tony Giacona
- 2nd Team Defense – Senior Captain Jake Zott
- 3rd Team Attack – Sophomore Shane Pettke
- 3rd Team Goalie – Junior Ethan Hines
- Honorable Mention Midfield - Senior Aaron Schneider
- Honorable Mention Defense – Senior Robby Milbrand
The team ended the season 15-4 overall, and 8-1 in the Mac Red Conference. Eisenhower lost to Ann Arbor Pioneer in the Regional Playoffs. Ann Arbor Pioneer remained undefeated until the State Finals against Brother Rice.
The awards don't stop at the players.
After winning the 2011-2012 Mac Red Coach of the Year Award, Mark Fortune will be stepping down. He has coached the team in some capacity for 11 years.

These awards show that this was a true team effort from the coach on down. This is the classiest, selfless group of young men I've run across is a very long period of time! Nice job to all and a special thanks to Coach Fortune for sharing his time and talent with all these young men, lives truly changed for the better!
