Catalytic Converter, Purse Stolen From Vehicles in Utica
The Utica Police are investigating two crimes last week that involve theft from a vehicle.
Catalytic Converter
A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked in the Buca Di Beppo parking lot last Sunday.
The owner of the vehicle came out of the restaurant in the evening after finishing dinner and noticed the converter was missing from her 2002 Pontiac Aztec.
The case was closed due to a lack of information.
Purse Stolen From Vehicle
A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked on Greeley Street sometime overnight last or early morning Nov.3 or Nov. 4.
The victim told Utica police she parked her car around 10 p.m. Saturday and when she came out the next morning, she noticed the car had been ransacked and her purse was missing.
Inside the purse, the woman had cash, credit cards, drivers license and her Social Security card.
The case remains open but there are no suspects at this time, according to a police report.

Wow! That Cadillac converter guy has taken quite a few of them over the past year! The case was closed after two days? Must've been a Tuffy! ;) And I learned my lesson the hard way, I had my truck broken into because I left some change in the cup holder that was visible from outside. They not only took the few bucks in change, they stole a pair of sunglasses that my Father wore thru WWII. They had gold wire rim frames and the lenses were glass. And ....I also got to pay for the broken windows which were less than my deductible. Don't leave anything in your car! These kids will break your windows for a stick of gum!
