Elderly Man Collapses While Shoveling Snow in Shelby Township

Firefighters responded to the man Saturday in the Shelby Road and 22 Mile area.

 

An elderly Shelby Township man collapsed Saturday morning while shoveling snow in the community, fire officials said.

The man, believed to be in his 70s, was using a snow blower at the time. Emergency responders rushed to his home in the Shelby Road and 22 Mile area and immediately performed CPR. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, according to the fire department.

Battalion Chief John McCoy said they are awaiting word from the hospital about whether the man would prevail.
