Yeah, but so did the Oakland A's and I don't think the Yankees bullpen is as good as the A's. We have better starting pitching and the Yankees best pitcher, S.S. Sabatha probably won't go until the fourth game, so I'm not saying we'll win the whole thing, but I'm think it will be at least a 5 game series.

You mean sadly that the Yankees will lose in 5.

It's 2-0 Tigers; looks like the sweep might go the other way with Verlander and Scherzer up next at Comerica!!

Hmm. That prediction isn't going so well, is it?

Any other fans have predictions for the ALCS? Will Fister win Game 1? Will A-Rod be benched again?

A Rod should be benched for life. I didn't want the Yankees to win but at the same time it was so awesome when they brought in Ibanez for A Rod and he got two HRs to win the game. What do you think that says about his playing time now?

When a team is paying a guy as much as they are paying A Rod, they don't sit him for very long. I bet that he will start the first game against the Tigers.

I admit, I did not think the Tigers had a chance after Jose Valverde blew the 4-run lead in the ninth inning. Did anyone think the Tigers could come back after that? And who would have thought Delmon Young would be the hero?

I thought they were done after Valverde's meltdown. Now with Jeter getting hurt, I think Tigers win this in 4 or 5 games.

So bummed about Jeter. I live in a house with a die-hard Yankees fan and, if the Tigers take the series, I know he'll say that's why.

I agree about Jeter, Leslie. He's a class act (and a Michigan native, too). Plus, I don't want to hear any excuses from Yankees fans - I'd prefer to see the Tigers beat the Yankees at their best.
Brian, did you think the Tigers would win the series before Jeter was injured last night?

Yes John, I had them winning in 6 games.

John, so many things had to happen for the Tigers the past two weeks to accelerate their chances ... and they've ALL happened! The A's sweep the Rangers to take the West, the Rangers lose the wild card, the Yankees beat the O's throwing almost 6 games worth of innings, and then they play Detroit without an off day. We beat them in NYC with our 3-4 starters and come home with JV and Max going. And if you dare look ahead, the Reds and Nationals have both been eliminated in the NL. It could be a very exciting next couple of weeks.

Mike, do you think the Tigers are now a team of destiny? I agree that things look great right now for the team.
