Laptop, Passport Stolen From Parked Vehicle
A computer bag containing a laptop and possibly a Shelby Township resident’s passport was stolen out of a parked vehicle on Sept. 17.
The victim told police he parked his 2000 Pontiac in front of his Shelby Township home around midnight. When he came out in the morning, he noticed a black computer bag, containing a Sony VIAO laptop, was gone.
The victim told police he believes his passport was inside because he can no longer find it.
There were no witnesses, and the victim told police he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary the night of the theft.
Rocks Thrown Through Elementary School Window
An Ewell Elementary School security guard reported a broken window at the school on Sept. 18.
A rear window on the recently shuttered elementary school was shattered on the Friday before, according to surveillance video.
Police said they found rocks on the ground in front of the window that could have been used to break the window.
The case was closed because there were no suspects.
CD’s Stolen From Vehicle
A thief broke into a vehicle parked in a shopping center lot on 23 Mile Road and Van Dyke sometime overnight on Sept. 18.
The door handle was broken and the thief attempted to take the radio from the dashboard but was unsuccessful. Instead, the thief stole an unknown amount of CDs.
There is no fingerprint evidence because the victim touched over everything the thief touched, police said. Therefore, the case was closed.
Bike Stolen From Outside Home
A bike valued at $400 was stolen from outside a home on Downing Court over the weekend of Sept. 16.
