Overdue on Child Support? Macomb County Officials Say Pay Up Now or Face Arrest
Macomb County residents with outstanding bench warrants for overdue child support payments are encouraged to pay up by Dec. 10 or face arrest.
The Macomb County Sheriff and Circuit Court are giving individuals who are overdue on their child support payments fair warning to either pay up by next week or face arrest.
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham and Chief Circuit Court Judge David Viviano annouced Wednesday that their offices would be conducting a four-day sweep in an effort to arrest those who are delinquent on their child support payments and have outstanding bench warrants.
Sheriff Wickersham’s Friend of the Court Enforcement Unit will devote extra resources to identifying and contacting these individuals from Dec. 10 through Dec. 13.
Wickersham and Viviano encourage residents with overdue payments to visit the Friend of the Court Office prior to the sweep to make arrangements to pay and thus avoid arrest.
The Friend of the Court Office is located on the sixth floor of the Macomb County Circuit Court Building, 40 North Main Street, Mount Clemens. The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It's about time...I have a friend whose ex-husband has been allowed to skate for the last 3 years on not paying child support. Lives in a nice place, drives a better car than me & always has cash to attend concerts, lions games and go out every weekend yet he's paid one month of child support for his children. He's been brought before the judge at least 10 different times, offers a lame excuse & another promise to pay within 30 days but naturally doesn't & the court just keeps allowing it.

it wont make him pay it is a sucky situation but you and i both know the realationship with him and your children will not be stong if there is one at all. i think it is a waste of time and tax dallors for the police to do this.. but its only an opinion. him going to jail for a min wont change his choice to not pay....

This is a joke. My ex owes my children over $170,000 in back child support, is currently on probation for 5 years for felony child support and his last court date in July was a joke. They no longer needed to schedule a quarterly review hearing because he paid what he was supposed to for "3 months". Haven't seen a dime since. He has paid about a years worth of child support in the past 18 years. You know how much time I have spent the past 16 years trying to get them to schedule hearing only for him to get a slap n the wrist and have to start all over again.
