Samaritan House Packs At-Risk Kids With Backpacks Full of School Supplies

With a little help from volunteers at Identity PR, the Samaritan House in Washington Township was able to give more than 100 at-risk children backpacks full of school supplies.

Samaritan House in Washington Township distributed backpacks full of school supplies Friday to more than 100 local at-risk children.

The non-profit got a little help doling out the backpacks from volunteers at Identity, a Bingham Farms-based public relations firm.

The Samaritan House is dedicated to serving local residents who are struggling to meet basic necessities.

In addition to acting as a food pantry, assisting with utility shutoffs, evictions and clothing, the Samaritan House works with Henry Ford Community Health Systems to offer a clinic on site to help people who are without health insurance.

Samaritan House is located at 62324 Van Dyke in Washington Township.
