You know your pasta Cinzia. Scallopini's is my all-time favorite! Mostaccioli with meat sauce and the minestrone soup that's to die for. Mmmmm.

Nonna's Kitchen in Shelby Township has the best restaurant pasta outside of Erie Street in Windsor. Bucci in the Woods is probably the best Italian in Grosse Pointe.

Definitely FERLITO's on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods. The meat sauce is so delicious (on the sweet side)! Servings are generous. The lasagna is fantastic! It is our "go-to" place during Lent too, because their marinara sauce is also quite good (with fish and seafood that is delicious for the others).

Me, John, and the kids LOVE Salvatore Scallopine's on Mack- we walk there and have dinner at least once per week- great pasta, very affordable for a family of four, and a great atmosphere ( and wine list :).) Always good! We also love Da Eduardo's especially in the summer when we can sit on their beautiful patio.

This should just be left to Grosse Pointe, seeing as how it is The Grosse Pointe Patch, particulary when Saturday was just support local business day. But in any case, Mario's downtown is delish, service is outstanding with old school ambience. Our go to close to home however is Pepperoni Grille on Mack in St. Clair Shores. The owners do an amazing job at creating a beautiful balance between a cozy Cheers type of place and serving a bit more upscale fare at reasonable prices. Love them!

Mario's, Luigi's, Salvatore Scallopini's, Villa, Roma's, Julliano's -- all honorable mention -- let me take Luigi's off the list -- it is overrated and horrible service -- the best and most successful business model in modern history (I even forgive then for turning the lakefront Bistro into a Rojo's... -- that was my all time fave) -- I vote Andiamo's Trattoria (Mack at Hampton) as numero uno, the absolute best Italian restaurant in the area -- from the food to the service & sexy hostesses (does that count?) and acceptable pricing -- the Trattoria get's my vote!
