Whiz Kid: Ike Senior Wins National Animation Award

Eisenhower senior earns national award for her animated work.

Whiz Kid: Morgan Lawrence

School:

Accomplishment: Lawrence was awarded with the American Vision Honor from the Scholastic Arts Competition for her animated work entitled Emma. The Scholastic Arts Competition is a national program that honors the best in student-produced art and writing and the American Vision Honor is the top award given.  Five students total from the Utica Community Schools were honored nationally for excellence in the visual arts.

The Eisenhower senior also earned a national silver key award for her animated work.

Key to Success: “Morgan will do anything it takes to reach her vision,” Eisenhower film teacher Michael Allore said. “She has enormous patience and is dedicated to taking the extra steps that are necessary to finalizing a particular project. For Morgan, the pain of the process is secondary to the pleasure of the final project. She stands out as a student because she is not afraid of unknown territories.”
