Kool & The Gang, Larry the Cable Guy Among Acts Playing Freedom Hill

New acts including Kool & The Gang and Larry the Cable Guy have been announced for Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights.

Two new acts have been announced for Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights. Tickets for both performances will go on sale Friday, March 15. Tickets can be purchased at www.freedomhill.net or by phone at 888-929-7849.  Late last year it was was announced the 7,200-seat facility would be reopening. The first act signed to play Freedom Hill Amphitheatre was Grammy-winning band Lady Antebellum.

MJR Hosts Free Showings of 'Hotel Transylvania' for Kids This Weekend

Children age 12 and under can see the the film for free, while adult tickets are $1 March 9-10.

Not Your Usual Concert: Motor City Brass Band Prepares for Annual Festival

The Motor City Brass Band, which includes players from Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Clinton Township and across Metro Detroit, will host their annual Motor City Festival of Bands March 10 in Dearborn.

If you’re looking for a typical classical concert, stay away from the Motor City Brass Band. The band of more than 30 musicians, including several from Shelby Township, doesn’t perform concerts, explains Musical Director and Conductor Craig Strain. They put on shows. The next will be their biggest of the season—literally. Did You Miss Eisenhower's Sold-Out Production of 'Les Misérables'?

If you were unable to catch one of the Shelby Township high school's shows, you can still hear the people sing on YouTube.

Eisenhower High School students brought audiences to tears and later to their feet with their breathtaking production of Les Misérables School Edition last weekend.  Performed Feb. 28-March 2, the production enjoyed sold-out performances and introduced a new generation to the award-winning musical that has touched the hearts of millions around the world. If you weren't able to catch one of the high school's stunning performances, never fear, you can still hear the people sing on YouTube. Movie Release Date Set for Kristin Chenoweth Movie Filmed in Macomb County

The motion picture 'Family Weekend' was filmed in Macomb County in February 2011 and will premiere locally at MJR Marketplace Cinema in March.

Macomb County's time on the silver screen in the movie Family Weekend will come later this month. The film, which was shot at locations throughout the county, will open March 29 in Detroit, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas, according to the movie's website. Locally, the film will premiere at MJR Marketplace Cinema on Van Dyke in Sterling Heights. However, those with Comcast cable, Time Warner cable, DIRECTV or Dish video on demand can catch the movie right now. It will also be digitally available starting April 23 through Amazon, iTunes, VUDU, Verizon and AT&T. Free Children's Film Fest Starts Today at MJR Cinemas with 'Frankenweenie'

There will be a special showing of the film on Saturday and Sunday. Children 12 and under will be admitted at no charge, while parents tickets cost $1.
