23 Mile At Shelby Closed Due To Downed Wires

A strong storm blew through Shelby Township Tuesday, knocking out power to residents and downing power lines.

The intersection of 23 Mile and Shelby Road is closed Tuesday due to downed power wires.

A storm came through Shelby Township Tuesday morning which caused downed power lines and knocked out power to about 784 DTE Energy customers. The downed wires into the intersection of 23 Mile and Shelby Road, and caused the traffic signals to also drop from their normal height.

DTE Energy stated that crews were dispatched for emergency repairs, and service was anticipated to be restored about 4 pm. Tuesday.
