As temperatures rise rapidly Monday morning, motorists could face areas of fog amid a steady drizzle of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast calls for rain before 10 a.m., with fog creeping in after as the temperature moves toward a high of 48 degrees. Roadways could also be slippery following last night's rain-snow mix, which dropped between 1 and 2 inches of snow across the Metro Detroit area.
Temperatures in Shelby Township and Utica could hit the mid 50s Tuesday, with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening as very warm and moist air moves in ahead of a cold front, according to the NWS.
But don't get too excited. Winter is slated to return to the area Wednesday as temperatures drop into the 20s and snow showers return.
