Date Night Alert: Utica Hosts Outdoor Movie
Utica will kick off its Park It Family Fun Nights with an open-air movie in Grant Park Aug. 1.
Imagine sitting under the stars in a park with your significant other, listening to classic rock and then cracking open a bag of popcorn while watching a movie on an outdoor LED screen. Sound like a good date night?
Well, that can be reality on Monday in Grant Park with the first Park It Family Fun Night in Utica.
The Utica Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the free event Aug. 1 starting at 6 p.m. The night will kick off with the sounds of the George Brothers Band at 6:30 p.m. and then wind down with a movie under the stars at 8:15 p.m. Tonight's movie will be Despicable Me.

Kids can play on the bounce house or get their faces painted while parents sit back on the lawn and enjoy a good open-air flick.
Park it Family Fun Nights are in more than 25 communities in metro Detroit. Communities who work with Park It Family Fun Nights are asked to donate used books to help the organization fill the libraries of metro Detroit with more books.
