Family fun picks for the week.


Where/When: Shelby Township Library, Tuesday, March 15, 3:30-5 pm.
Why Go: Kids in kindergarten through grade four should love this afternoon activity at the library where they'll enjoy a fun craft project.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Messmore Elementary School, Tuesday, March 15, 5 and 7 pm.
Why Go: This should be a wildly entertaining lesson, as kids and families can observe exotic critters like snakes, jungle cats, monkeys, parrots and more through a Rain Forest Assembly. Besides being entertained, everyone will learn ways to help save the rainforest through saving energy and recycling.
Pricing: $5 per person. Children under 3 get in free.


Where/When: Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, Thursday, March 17, 10 am.
Why Go: Children age 3-5 should love this 1-hour adventure with a story and craft or outing. Today's topic is "Duck Soup."
Pricing: $2 per child. To register, call 586-323-8478.

Where/When: Stony Creek Metropark, Wednesday, March 16 at 11 am.
Why Go: Learn about nature and the raw materials that shape our world, including rocks, soil, sand and ores. Kids who attend will explore rocks and minerals in this program for ages 8 and up.
Pricing: $4 per child. Metropark fee is $5 per vehicle for the day, if you don't have a pass. Call to register.


Where/When: Macomb Center for the Performing Arts, Saturday, March 19, 11 am or 3 pm.
Why Go: Enjoy a childhood classic — the Lucy Maud Montgomery novel "Anne of Green Gables" — brought to life on the stage as a musical.
Pricing: $10 for adults; $5 children 12 and under.

Where/When: Anton Art Center, Sunday, March 20, 1-3 pm.
Why Go: The Anton Art Center is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday (a few days late) with a Family Fun Workshop. Anyone who loves books or Dr. Seuss is invited to stop in and make bookmarks and other fun projects. Also, while you're at the Art Center, check out the student art on ; teens from dozens of area schools have submitted hundreds of artworks which will be shown at the center through April 10.
Pricing: $3 per person.
