Grab & Go Kids Planner: Hang Out With Toys, Meet a Tortoise

Toys on ice, a concert with "pluck," strange critters and a bowling fund-raiser are among our picks for you this week.


Where/When: The Palace of Auburn Hills, March 9-13.
Why Go: See Disney-Pixar's modern classic and its beloved characters—Buzz, Woody and the rest of the toy gang—brought to vibrant life on the ice. Families will enjoy scenes from all three Toy Story movies.
Pricing: $15 and up.


Where/When: Evola Music, Thursday, March 10, 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Shelby Township Library presents free concerts most months and tonight, contemporary harpist and singer Onita Sanders will perform.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: St. Lawrence Convent Elementary School, Friday, March 11, 4:30-7 p.m.
Why Go: It's a family-friendly, affordable way to get together. Enjoy fried or baked fish, fried shrimp, mac & cheese and plenty of sides for one low price.
Pricing: $7, $6 for seniors, $3 for kids 12 and under.

Where/When: Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center, Friday, March 11, 7 p.m.
Why Go: This is part of the nature center's Nature Nights events, full of fun and learning for the whole family. Today kids get to make a strange craft critter and meet tortoises and turtles.
Pricing: $2 for ages 12-adult; $1 for ages 4-11.


Where/When: Shelby Lanes, Sunday, March 13, 2-5 p.m.
Why Go: This fund-raiser helps the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Enjoy three games of nine pin no tap, a chance at a mystery jackpot, pizza, pop and cash bar.
