Moms Talk: UCS Winter Break (Woohoo!) For Who

Welcome to the second installment of Moms Talk, a new feature on Shelby-Utica Patch that is part of a new initiative across all Patch sites to reach out to moms and families in our own communities.

Our Moms Council has been assembled, and is standing by to take your questions, give advice and share solutions.

Whether you are a first-time mom, a grandmother, step-mom, Mr. Mom or one of those lucky few who are just "really good with kids," we want you to join the conversation. Moms Talk Q&A is the place to drop in for a talk about the latest parenting hot topic, and the issues you're facing this very moment.

This week Utica Community School parents are dashing to figure out what to do with their children during mid-winter break, which runs Feb. 21 through Feb. 25.

Those five days off of school mean many different things to many parents. For some, the question is how to keep the children entertained and out of trouble while they are off; for other parents it’s a daycare nightmare, and for some parents, the problem (if that’s what you call it) is what sunny tropical place will I take them.

Also, the days off for students sometimes mean more work for parents.

We all know what the break means to your children–sleep in and no school! Woohoo! But what does it mean to you?
