Tickets are still available for the Farmington Community Library Red Carpet Event, held Feb. 10 at the Farmington Civic Theater.
The local showing of Academy Award-nominated short films officially kicks off a year-long initiative designed to raise awareness about the library and what it brings to the community. The word "geek" is used as a verb, meaning:
- To love, to enjoy, to celebrate, to have an intense passion for.
- To express interest in.
- To possess a large amount of knowledge in.
- To promote.
Seating is limited, and tickets are $15 a person and $25 a couple, available at the Main Library and Farmington branch. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. at Mike Greer Photography, where hors d'oeuvres will be served, followed by a showing of the Oscar-nominated short films at 7:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will beneft the Friends of the Library, which provides funds for books, technology, programs and other library needs.
