Shelby Township Library-Court Complex Temporarily Loses Power

Repairs to a downed line caused about 700 DTE Energy customers to lose power Tuesday afternoon.

The Shelby Township municipal complex that includes 41-A District Court, library and senior center was among the DTE Energy customers who lost power Tuesday due to an power outage.

According to an outage map on the DTE Energy website, there were about 700 residential, business and municipal customers without power Tuesday afternoon in the 23 Mile and Van Dyke area. Shelby TV was also off-air due to the outage. 

Power was restored to most DTE customers after about an hour of the initial outage.

DTE officials stated the outage was caused due to a downed wire, and to allow crews to fix the downed wire.
