Photos: Trunk or Treat a Hit with Kids and Adult Kids-at-Heart

Halloween rang in early for excited kids and adults at Shelby Township's 3rd annual Trunk or Treat.

Several hundred costume-clad little tricker-treaters and about 50 Halloween enthusiasts came out to Shelby Township’s 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat event Saturday at for some candy and spooky good fun.

Residents and businesses were challenged to deck-out their vehicle’s trunks with the scariest, most ghoulish and creative decorations and pass out treats.

The Miller family of Shelby Township took those instructions seriously and laid out an entire graveyard complete with crows and skeletons.

Bill Miller said he’s been preparing for Halloween all year. He even hand makes costumes and latex masks out of his home studio and started a company called Night Stalker Productions.  And that’s just for the adults who love Halloween.

For the little ones, the Parks and Recreation Department, provided a Casper the Ghost bounce house, a hayride around the parking lot and lots of treats.

Lenny Shepherd of Macomb Welding, who decorated his work truck, said that within 20 minutes of the event’s start, he had already passed out nearly 100 bags of candy to excited little kids who can't wait for the real-thing Monday.

It’s a toss up of who enjoyed Trunk or Treat the most: the kids or the decorating adults.
