Zombies To Take Over Downtown Utica

Utica to hold first ever Zombie Crawl Oct. 13.

The Utica City Council has approved the first annual Zombie Crawl for Oct. 13.

Zombies will take over the streets during the daylong extravagenza, which is dedicated to raising money for the American Red Cross.

Organizer of the event, Pop! Caffeine, Comics and Gaming owner Kimberly Stone, presented her plan for the crawl to the Utica City Council last week.

Here's a look at the gruesome activities planned for Oct 13:

12-4pm:Blood drive at POP! Caffeine, Comics and Gaming

  • The Red Cross will be on hand to take donations.

4-7pm: Zombifying Booths Open

  • $5.00 donation for makeup application
  • Makeup artists will "zombify" participants with fake blook and makeup

5pm: Take a Bite Out of Utica Zombie Crawl

  • $5.00 donation entitles participants to food and drink discounts at participating eateries in downtown Utica.

8:30pm: Zombie Wranglers will Escort Zombies to Haunted House

All other zombies may converge on downtown Utica starting at POP! and lumber, shamble and learch their way down Cass Avenue, west on Auburn and over to the water treatment area where The Lions Club is hosting the
