Billboard Art Project Turns Public's Work into Roadside Art Gallery

The Billboard Art Project is looking for local artists to help them fill a digital LCD billboard in downtown Utica into a roadside art gallery.

The public is invited to help turn downtown Utica into a live streaming art gallery by participating in the Billboard Art Project.

The Billboard Art Project is a nonprofit organization that acquires digital billboards normally used for advertising and repurposes them as roadside galleries. Projects are held in cities all over the country and are open to all individuals and groups who are interested in participating.

A billboard in the parking lot of , in downtown Utica will be flashing the public's artwork for the month of June.

But, they need your help filling the LCD billboard, which morphs every 6-10 seconds, with artwork.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the public is invited to create original art and hand it over to Billboard Art Project representatives. Tables will be set up behind Muldoons on Auburn Road for you to create your own art.  Then, come back the weekend of June 23 and watch for your own art to be displayed for all to see.
