Crafters Get Creative at Utica's Annual Arts & Crafts Festival

Head out to the Arts & Crafts Festival this weekend to enjoy the warm weather, sunny skies and creative crafts.

Have you ever wanted to channel your inner creativity? Are you often intrigued by arts and crafts? Do you secretly get just a little jealous when you see your kids make a beautiful mess of a masterpiece with finger paints?

Then this weekend’s 21st Annual Old Mill Arts & Crafts Festival at Grant Park is the place for you. This festival, which is hosted by the Utica Parks & Recreation Department, is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The event will feature a variety of booths from metal crafters and jewelry makers to dried flower art and wood pieces such as chairs and tables. Other tables at the festival include clothing, soaps and lotions, lawn art, etc.

Feel free to make this an outing for the entire family as there is a Kids Zone with crafts like sand art, face painting and tattoos as well as several doggy booths with clothing and treats. And if you get the munchies while perusing, there is a food court in addition to booths with foods like kettle corn, honey, nuts, ice cream, and Mackinac Island Fudge.

While there are no parking or admissions fees for the events, festival chairperson Marie Gratopp said you can expect to spend $5 and up on different items and crafts at the festival. So head on out to support mostly Michigan crafters because everyone loves a little arts and crafts.
