80th Annual Michigan Peach Festival

The Michigan Peach Festival of Romeo is going on through Labor Day. Ride the ferris wheel, nosh on festival goodies, listen to live music, shop arts and crafts and much more. 

Today's lineup is chock full of fun, including the festival fly-in and breakfast, Festival of Cars show and parade, the bed races and Mummer's Parade.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 4

  • 7 a.m.-noon: Peach Festival Fly-In & Farmers Breakfast, Romeo State Airport, 32 Mile Road. $7 per person, children under 10, $3.
  • 7:30 a.m.-11 a.m.: Car Show Registration, followed by the Festival of Cars Show, from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Romeo Ford Engine Plant-701 E. 32 Mile Road. Call 586-747-1871 if you have questions.
  • 5 p.m. meetup; 7 p.m. start: Festival of Cars Parade, Meet at Romeo K-Mart, 66011 Van Dyke.
  • 8 a.m.-8 p.m.: Peach Festival Tennis Tournaments, Romeo, Eisenhower and Almont high schools.
  • 8 a.m.-6 p.m.: 30th Annual NMSC Romeo Peach Festival Soccer Tournament, Hevel, Gilcher, Washington, Crystal Fields.
  • 8 a.m.-9 p.m.: R-W-B Men’s Double Elimination Softball Tournament, Crystal Diamonds Field.
  • 9 a.m.-8 p.m.: Nicaragua Bake Sale - Wesleyan Medical Mission, Dr. Lie's Office, 288 Main St.
  • 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Mike & Ruth’s Hilltop Farm, peach pies from scratch, in front of Citizens Bank, 114 S. Main, downtown Romeo.
  • 10 a.m.-7 p.m.: Croswell Extravaganza - Craft Show, Farmer's Market, Business Expo, Croswell Elementary School and grounds. $1 admission.
  • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: Frontier Town Arts & Craft Show, Frontier Town, 67300 Van Dyke.
  • 11 a.m.-9 p.m.: Pamela's Catering Food Tent, ribs, deep-fried peach pies and more, 221-1/2 N. Baily.
  • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: St. Paul's Peachy Flea Market & Craft Fair, St. Paul's Episcopal Church 11100 St. Clair, Romeo.
  • Noon-8 p.m.: Peachy Keen Art Scene, at the Starkweather Artists Market, Starkweather Arts Center, Main Street, Romeo.
  • Noon-5 p.m.: Annual Used Book Sale, Romeo Recreation Center, 361 Morton St.
  • Noon-10 p.m.: River of God Cafe, River of God Community Church, 230 E. St. Clair, Romeo.
  • Noon-9 p.m.: 46th Annual Baby & Pet Photo Contest, Kiwanis of Romeo, 135 Main, Romeo.
  • Noon-9 p.m.: Romeo Masonic Lodge Peach Pie & Food Sale, Masonic Lodge Gray's Opera House, 231 N. Main.
  • Noon-11 p.m.: Mid America Carnival Shows
  • Noon-1 a.m.: Beers Around the World.
  • Noon-1 a.m.: Refreshment Tent, Lions Community Field. $2 donation after 7 p.m. Deejay plays 6-9 p.m., live band, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
  • 3-11 p.m.: Lions Vegas Games, Romeo Lions Clubhouse.
  • 4-11 p.m.: Romeo Masonic Lodge Grilled Chicken Dinner, 231 N. Main, 586-752-2822
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m.: Snack & Food Booth to Benefit His Table Community Meal, Romeo United Methodist Church, 280 N. Main., 586-752-9132
  • 7 p.m.: Bed Races, with the theme, "What is that Hiding Under My Bed?" Main Street. 
  • 7:30 p.m.: Festival of Cars Parade, Main Street, downtown.
