Library Offers Free Wednesday Programs for Kids

Shelby Township Public Library kicks off its free Wednesday programs for kids, free for families with children ages 3 and up. Each week features a fun theme and engaging activity perfect for youngsters.

The schedule is as follows:

  • June 22: Beverly Meyer, The Music Lady, visits, sharings songs and stories.
  • June 29: Zeemo, The Yo-Yo Man, who will perform tricks with giant Chinese yo-yos and spinning tops and sharing the history of yo-yos.
  • July 6: Margaret Schmidt, the farm lady of Maplewoods Homestead. She'll bring animal friends, including a duck and chicken. Kids will enjoy stories, songs and learn about nature.
  • July 13: Mad Science. Children will see experiments that represent countries and cultures worldwide. Program runs until 2:30 p.m.
  • July 20: Magic Show with Baffling Bill. Bill and his magic rabbit will entertain with how-did-he-do-that tricks.
  • July 27: Mr. Inflations & His Balloon Creations. See magic and balloons, enjoy stories and gags.
  • Aug. 3: The Global Safari Show: Ventriloquist Vikki Gasko and her cast of characters worldwide will take kids on a global adventure.
