Lollipop Kids Children's Resale Shop

Shelby-Utica fashion boutiques offer great new styles and accessories every week. Check back every Friday for the latest in tops, bottoms, bags, accessories and more.

This week, Shelby-Utica Patch's Fashion Friday visited Lollipop Kids Children's Resale Boutique on Schoenherr Road. The store has been open for just more than a year.

The boutique is owned by Pam and Teara Zakalowski, a mother-daughter duo who decided to open the shop after the troubled economy took its toll. Teara Zakalowski worked in retail for almost 15 years, so the two thought it fitting to open a clothing store.

They figured a children's clothing store was a perfect fit because Teara Zakalowski has a two and a half year old daughter. They often use her as a model for the store.

Lollipop Kids Children's Resale Boutique buys and sells children's clothing from newborn to size 6. They also accept and sell children's toys, baby items, equipment, and more. The store buys items outright for cash. Customers also have the option of receiving store credit, which offers 25 percent more for their items.

Lollipop Kids accepts all brands and designers. All items must be in "like new" condition. Pam Zakalowski stresses that the clothing at Lollipop Kids is in excellent condition. Everything at the store is sold at great prices for parents on a budget.

The store also offers a play area, where children can play while moms shop without interruption.

Lollipop Kids contributes to Compassion Pregnancy in Mount Clemens, an organization that helps pregnant girls who need support. They also offer classes where the girls can earn points to buy items that are donated by Lollipop Kids.

They also contribute to Baldwin House, and send items to a shelter home in Jamaica.
