Utica is Looking for Talented Local Artists

Utica is accepting artist applications for the annual summer art festival.

Calling all crafters and artists:  The City of Utica is now accepting applications for the annual Old Mill Arts & Crafts Festival on July 28 and 29.

The annual festival takes over every summer.  The park is equipped with several areas of play so the youngsters have something to keep them entertained, plenty of resting areas so the family can sit and have a hot dog, soft drink, kettle corn, or just take in the fresh air.  This year, the festival will also have the Giant Pinball Machine to entertain all ages.

Artists from all over the county come to display their work at the festival. Applications can be found at cityofutica.org in the Parks and Recreation section.

The Old Mill Arts & Crafts Festival is the only fundraiser the Parks and Recreation does for the entire year. However, the Parks and Recreations funds the the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Ice Festival, Cruising with the Oldies Car Show, Christmas Tree Lighting, Park It (free movie in Grant Park), Michigan Week Mayor’s Exchange and Michigan Week Student Government Day with Utica High School students and have been a major contributor to the recently completed Hike and Bike Trail.

So whether you are a crafter, artist, or just someone who enjoys the parks, the Old Mill Arts & Crafts Festival is for you.
