Wish You Could Get Paid for Dealing with Bridezilla? Now you Can!

Share your favorite bridezilla story and you could be the recipient of a $100 gift certificate from Bella Rose Bridal Boutique.

This wedding season, Bella Rose Bridal Boutique on Hayes Road in Shelby Township is looking to reward a self-proclaimed (or proclaimed by others) Bridezilla.

The Bella Rose Bridezilla Contest is for the brides who obsess about their wedding from the first day of planning until the reception is over.

Participants may write on Bella Rose’s Facebook page about their funniest, scariest, most embarrassing, or most awkward Bridezilla experience. You don't have to be a former bride to send a story. Friends of friends, relatives, and even name changes to protect the innocent are accepted.

Stories will be accepted until May 31, 2011. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate good towards any purchase at Bella Rose Bridal Boutique.

Bella Rose Operational Manager Scott Sims said only a few submissions have trickled in so far, and all the stories were sent via private message on Facebook.

“Nobody wants to put their names on the board. I didn’t realize that people don’t want their names. … The bride may recognize their own scenario and say, ‘wait a minute–that’s me,’" he said.

In story submission that sounded like a scene right out the 2009 hit movie Bride Wars, Sims said two friends who were both standing up in each other’s weddings around the same time period were out to sabotage each other by giving each other bad advice.

Sims said the contest was meant to be funny and light-hearted, not to embarrass people, and he will not publish any submissions that are mean and hyper-critical of the bride.

Sims said he’s hoping a bride with a sense of humor will write a great story submission.

“Hopefully somebody will laugh at themselves and say, 'I was such a terror,'” said Sims.

To be considered for the contest, post your story right on Bella Rose's Facebook wall or send your story via message (message submissions will be kept anonymous).
