Celebrate Pi Day 2013 with Your Favorite Slice in Shelby Township and Utica

March 14, also known as Pi Day, is a holiday for math geeks and pie lovers.

Thursday, March 14 is International Pi Day, a celebration of the Greek letter that is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter – aka 3.141592653. It is celebrated on that day because the digits in the date correspond with the first three digits of pi.

And while this holiday might excite math lovers worldwide, it also offers something for the sweet tooths of Shelby Township and Utica. Namely, it's an excuse to eat pie.

Achatz Handmade Pie Co. in Shelby Township will be selling all of its pre-cut pie slices for $3.14 in honor of the holiday, according to its Facebook page.
