"He was a very, very nice man. He was very giving and donated to local schools," he said.

Terry said Forbes was also very well known in the local music industry. Dennis and Scott, along with five band members, made up the country-rock band The Forbes Brothers. The band played around the metro Detroit area and annually at the WYCD Detroit Hoedown.

Per Forbes' wishes, there will be no funeral. Instead a celebration of his life will be held Saturday at Mr. B's from 1-5 p.m.

Terry told Patch the restaurant is bracing for large crowds Saturday.

"We’re expecting to be crammed in here, with more people outside. I am talking thousands of people," he said.
