HGTV's Cash and Cari Films as Treasure Hunter's Delight in Estate Sale

It was a filming, buying and selling frenzy Friday at a Utica estate sale as crews from HGTV's Cash and Cari shot an episode of the third season of the hit show.

"It’s been really busy. We’ve had a line all day," said Cari Cucksey, Cash and Cari host.

A 10-person film crew shot video as Cucksey bargained and liquidated the home's treasures, which included trains sets, tools, old board games, lava lamps, dolls and much more.

Cucksey said the hot items at the sale were tools and train sets.

The treasures belonged to James Bizon who died Dec. 17 from a massive heart attack. 

Bizon's family said he was a deaf-mute, but he was well known in the community for communicating his passion for collecting a variety of things.

Monique Stone was shopping at the home for several minutes until she realized it belonged to Bizon, a former client of hers.

"I remember him because I have the Ace Hardware store in Utica and he’s been a customer there for 30 years - at least," she said. "He was very friendly and very nice when he came in."

"I had no idea that he had the tools and the things he had," Stone added.

Cucksey, a Northville-based professional estate liquidator and owner of retail store called RePurpose Estate Services in Northville, was hired by Bizon's family to sell the home's belongings.
