The Metropolitan Cafe Features New Chef, Menu And Entertainment

The Metropolitan Cafe recently reopened with a new menu, entertainment options and specials.

When Jennifer DiCicco and Gary Barney reopened The Metropolitan Cafe in May, regulars found many new enhancements.

Specials can now be found throughout the week including $5 martinis on Wednesdays, ladies night on Thursdays and live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.

The menu was also upgraded with the hiring of executive chef Bart Maslar, who previously worked at Morton's Steakhouse, Sajo's and Muer restaurants. He reworked the menu to include daily specials along with fresh daily seafood; a Michigan orchard pork chop sauteed in apples and mushrooms with an apple brandy reduction and a Metro Burger made with a hand-patty of sirloin and ribeye on a whole grain or pretzel bun, smoked gouda cheese and homemade potato chips.

"We make everything from scratch. Nothing comes from a box" said DiCicco, of the cafe located in the heart of the township on 24 Mile and Van Dyke. "We are the local lounge."
