Tired of Basketball? Comcast Offers Free Catch-Up of Popular Shows

Comcast is giving its Xfinity television customers free access to a number of shows from March 25-31 during "Watchathon Week."

Comcast customers who are tired of wall-to-wall basketball coverage can escape hoop-mania with Xfinity's Watchathon Week.

For one week customers Comcast customers in Shelby Township, Utica and across Macomb County will be able access series including Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Dexter, Girls, Spartacus and Duck Dynasty, along with seasons of shows including  Mad MenRevolution, The Walking Dead and Chicago Fire.

“The scale of Xfinity Watchathon Week is enormous,” said Maggie Suniewick, Vice President, Video Services, ComcastCable, in a release. “This will be the biggest catch-up ever in TV history, offering Xfinity TV customers the opportunity to binge view the hottest shows on top networks for free. It takes the TV catch-up concept to an entirely new level with every episode of every season of TV’s best shows, in addition to the tens of thousands of content options already available for free on Xfinity On Demand.”

There will be more than 3,500 episodes of 100 television series on 30 premium, cable and broadcast networks including ABC, MTV, HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ and CINEMAX, according to Comcast. Video On Demand (VOD)-enabled Xfinity TV customers will have access to these shows. 

To find shows that are available, a microsite will be launched on www.xfinity.comcast.net.
