We've Got Pics: Shelby Farmer's Market Shoppers Greeted with Special Treat

On Saturday, Shelby-Utica Patch doled out nearly 200 cotton and reusable tote bags to shoppers at the Shelby Township Farmer's Market.

On this beautiful sunny afternoon at the , Patch Editor Marina Cracchiolo and Sales Manager George Stager, shaded by a green Patch tent and caffeinated by ice-cold coffees, doled out more than 200 canvas tote bags to eager organic shoppers.

The , already 10 weeks into the season, connects local residents from twin sisters enjoying a day out to the and his family with organic vendors such as an enthusiastic salsa chef from Down River and a farmer from China Township, MI. Several hundred people stopped by the market to visit the nearly 20 vendors. A singer, a chef preparing fresh dishes, and vendors selling fresh eggs and flowers entertained the shoppers.

On their way into the market, residents saluted the Patch tent. As a bonus, they were greeted with a washable and reusable bag to put their goodies in.

The market is open every Saturday through October from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is located at the historic Packard Proving Ground, which is Van Dyke Avenue between 23 and 22 Mile roads.
