I'm going to Boot Camp- without my favorite boots

A non exercise person is going to do her first EVER 1 hour Boot Camp Session at Body Images. I LOVE boots, but Boot Camp may be a different story. Hey for $5.00, it can't hurt? (or can it?)

True Story:

Last week, I had an appointment to meet with Pam Paul, owner of Body Images Fitness Center, and her assistant Toni Talbot.  The meeting was set for 11:00 a.m. and we were to go over some marketing strategies.

As I was getting ready, I couldn't decide what boots to wear that day.  I had just racked up some GREAT deals at the Parisian Yellow Dot sale, (yes, and great debt too), and I really wanted my feet to fall in love with a pair of their new BFFs.

"Should it be the tall, exquisite, soft as butter, leather black Lauren's that I got for a STEAL"  -or the "perfect shade of chocolate brown, 4" spike Coach with the "gold trim" that I couldn't resist buying at full price at the beginning of the season?" ( still paying for those).

Now, I realize that my boot addict just got the best of me, and time is of the essence.  I pick the Coach, because I'm trying to impress somebody else, and head out the door.  It is  now 11:15- not good.  I still have at least 15 minutes to travel.

I make my "perpetually late" phone call to Body Images to let them know that I didn't forget and suddenly, there I am. I pull up to the front of the building.   Not bad!  Nice place, looks very pretty... I have no idea what they do in there, but I'm sure I'll find out.

As I walk through the front doors, I am immediately intimidated by the "power" or "energy" -as I like to call it- of this place.  My knees started quaking in my beautiful, full priced Coach Boots!  All I could see before me were big, shiny metal exercise machines.   You know, the ones with the pedals, and stairs, and walking strip things down the middle.  Those kind.  Nice equipment, but scary to a person like me.

Obviously, I am NOT an exercise person. And, I don't lie about not being an exercise person.  Exercise hurts, it takes time, it takes effort, and I have a 7 year old.  There, boom....no excuses. Tell it like it is sister.  No machines for me. I'm strictly there to help them market these shiny beasts.

Well, then I got to talking with Pam, and Toni.  As I sat and listened to Pam explain the concept of how Body Images incorporates different methods into fun exercise,  I thought " hmmmmm..............."

Then Pam started to talk about this Boot Camp thing that's coming up and how she can help us build core muscles and bi-ceps and tri-ceps and other muscle stuff that I'm pretty sure I don't have in my body.

Pam is so full of passion and energy for her work, that it actually started to rub off on me!  I did confess to her that when she started talking about Boot Camp, I drifted off into my closest full of goodies.  She laughed.  Then I found out it only costs $5.00 for the Boot Camp for one hour and I said- "ok, I'll do it."  I think we were both amazed at my response.

However, I do feel it is my duty as a writer and PR person to try or know the product before I express my opinion on it "out there" in techno world.  In this case, I had NO clue as to what I was walking into- but me and my Coach booties got us there.  Hopefully after the Body Images Boot Camp I'll be able to walk out in my really cute, but never before worn,  Sketcher exercise shoes. I'll let you know how it goes.
