Proceeds to fund scholarships for local students

Detroit, Michigan  —  February 25, 2013  —  Students from four metro-Detroit high schools are inviting individuals, groups and businesses in their community to be part of something greater than any one person can do individually. Change for Change is a community coin drive, where 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars to fund scholarships for local students. The coin drive will run from March 1 thru March 31 and the goal is to raise $8,000.

Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars is a volunteer-driven scholarship organization working in partnership with Henry Ford II High School, Lincoln Consolidated High School, Willow Run High School and Ypsilanti High School to help local students achieve the dream of higher education through scholarships and academic support.

On February 15, 2013,  Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars proudly announced to its high school partners that they will award $16,000 in scholarships to eight graduating seniors. Scholarships are more than just money. Scholarships are a symbol of hope, giving students the opportunity to reach their full potential.
