Cruisers Revved Up for This Year's Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise

This year's Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise will feature hundreds of classic cars, live entertainment, a parade and fun for the kids.

For eight years residents have been cruising Gratiot the first Sunday in August for the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise and this year's cruise on Sunday, Aug. 7 will once again have thousands of cruisers. People and cars come from all over Michigan and even from out of state. Thousands will drive their favorite classics showing off their elegant curves, shiny chrome and roomy interiors. Tires will burn, engines will hum, and tops will be dropped while folks drive their classics among the cruisers of today.

The cruise will have plenty to offer every family member, including those who can't get behind the wheel. Cruise headquarters, which opens at 10 a.m. on 16 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue, will have the Moran Kids Zone with inflatables, safety town, crafts, face painting and the Pedal Car Cruise taking place at 11:15 a.m. The parade begins at noon with Grand Marshal John Bornosky, 100, leading the way. Following will be police, fire department, VIPS, the American Legion Honor Guard and cruise car show participants in their classics.

Cruise headquarters will also have live entertainment onstage all day including Boomerangs, Motor City Wranglers and Little Elvis. The car show opens at 8 a.m. with registration. WCSX will be broadcasting live from noon to 7 p.m. and WADL also will be giving away fun prizes.
