Happening This Weekend and Beyond: Sterlingfest, Family Fun and More

There's plenty of fun abuzz in the coming days, from card parties for a cause to Bee Day at Shadbush.

Where/When: Dodge Park and Utica roads, Sterling Heights; July 28-30.
Why Go: Sterlingfest returns with three days of food, music and fun. Enjoy live concerts, magic, juggling, clowning, dance acts, arts and crafts, the midway and more.

Where/When: , 52261 Van Dyke; 6-7:30 p.m. July 28.
Why Go: Young ladies and their mothers (and grandmothers) can partake in a Royal Tea, replete with a princess and maidens, a fashion show, singing, dancing, tea and, of course, memory-making fun.

Why Go: Enjoy a most fashionable bash tonight, with hair, makeup, stylin' clothes, music, cocktails and more.

Why Go: Enjoy a summer concert tonight at Stony Creek, as Intrigue headlines, playing top 40 hits and more on Eastwood Beach. Concertgoers are advised to arrive early for optimum seating, and to bring a chair or blanket. Picnic baskets are allowed, but please, no glass containers. Food will also be available at the park’s concession area.
Pricing: Free, with park admission, $5 for a daily pass.

Why Go: It's the peak of the harvest season, with cherries, peaches, tomatoes and more goodies at peak ripeness, so there's no better time to hit the Shelby farmers market for produce, cooking demonstrations and crafts and other goodies.

Where/When: Grant Park, 82301 Hahn St., Utica; 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1.
Why Go: Park*It for Family Fun Night at Grant Park. Enjoy live music, activities and giveaways followed by a movie. At 6:30 p.m. the George Brothers Band performs classic rock. The movie, Despicable Me, begins at 8:15 p.m.

Where/When: San Marino Club, 1685 E. Big Beaver, Troy; 6 p.m. Aug. 3.
Why Go: Support awareness and fight for a breast cancer cure in a fun way, with a Bunco Party and fundraiser at the San Marino Club. The event — a pasta dinner and game night — is hosted by Joanne Engel, Rose Gundel, Patricia DiLisio and Julie Bugli, and the goal is to raise money for Kim DiLiso's walk in the Breast Cancer 3-Day Aug. 12-14. She'll be walking 60 miles for the cause.
