Why Go: It's time for another night of Park*It Family Fun, this time at Ray Township Park. The fun starts at 6, and kids can enjoy a bounce house, face painting and more. At 6:30 p.m. the George Brothers Band performs classic rock. Then take in a movie under the stars at 8:15 p.m. Tonight's pick is Megamind.

Why Go: Head to Wolcott Mill Historic Center for some stargazing fun. The Perseid Meteor Shower happens at this time of year and viewers can see metor showers, from ten to thousands in an hour. Sit by a bonfire, make a craft, listen to meteor and star facts and trivia and enjoy a constellation walk. In case of inclement weather, the action moves indoors.
Pricing: $5 per adult, $2 per child. Preregistration and prepayment required. A vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $25 annually for regular admission, $15 annually for seniors or $5 daily.

Why Go: Shop for fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, plus the work of local artisans and craftspeople each week at the Shelby Farmers Market.

Where/When: Shelby Township Municipal Grounds, 52700 Van Dyke; Aug. 13-14. Festival hours are Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Why Go: The 28th Annual Shelby Township Art Fair is happening this weekend. There will be live music, art, food, activites and other fun for young and old. Plus, the Kid’s Corner & Activity Area will be operating until 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, and staff and volunteers from the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center will have live animals for a limited time on Saturday and Sunday.

Where/When: Bruce Hills Golf Course, 6771 Taft Road, Bruce Township; 8 p.m. Aug. 14.
Why Go: Hatchy's Bar is holding its 8th Annual Golf Outing Sunday, Aug. 14 at  This year Hatchy's is donating all proceeds to 16-year-old Taylor Draper, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 Medulloblastoma brain cancer. All monies raised will help the Draper family with medical and living expenses. Event includes 18 holes golf, lunch at the turn, prizes, contests and a five-course dinner at Hatchy's Bar.
Pricing: $100 per golfer.
