Lost Black Dog, Family Reunited

Shelby Township neighbors Sandy Wood and Veronica Check team up to reunite lost dog with family.

The last night has been reunited with his family on Wilmington thanks to two caring neighbors.

Sandy Wood found the dog and welcomed him into her home for the night. Wood posted the lost pup's picture on Facebook this morning.

Neighbor Veronica Check saw the photo and identified the lost dog on a flier she saw this afternoon posted on Thorneycroft. She and her mom took the flier to Wood who then called the owners and returned the sweet pup to her family.

Check is the neighborhood's pet detective of sorts, as she's helped to reunite three lost dogs with their owners in the last seven months.

"I felt really happy that I could help another dog," said Check. "I am an animal lover. When I get older, I definitely want to work with animals either at a shelter, pet store or as a veterinarian."
