Search for Missing Shelby Township Woman Continues

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department began its second day of searching for a missing 40-year-old woman Saturday. Her blood-stained vehicle was abandoned in Washington Township.

A day after a 40-year-old Shelby Township woman's blood-stained vehicle was found in Washington Township, the Macomb County Sheriff's Department continued its search for her Saturday.

Michelle Kristen DeGrace’s family reported her missing before her vehicle was found on the north side of 31 Mile and Campground roads around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

A passerby reported the abandoned 1999 Dodge Concord on the roadway, and when deputies looked inside the vehicle, they found what appeared to be blood.

When investigators called the registered owner of the vehicle, DeGrace's husband, he said she had left in that vehicle and he had already reported her missing.

Wickersham said, based on the information that has been collected, there are no signs of foul play.

The sheriff’s department, using K-9 units, a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter, sheriff’s air reserves and all-terrain vehicles combed the area for more than 12 hours Friday.

The area where her car was found is mostly surrounded by subdivisions with large homes, a cemetery and empty land.

Deputies will return to the area around 9 a.m. Saturday to resume the search. The Shelby Township police are also assisting in the search efforts.

DeGrace is described as about 5 feet 3 inches tall and 150 pounds, with blond hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department at 586-469-5151.
