Shelby-Utica Toys for Tots Collection Sites

Toys can be donated through Dec. 18.

Toys for Tots is under way for 2012, but where can you donate in Shelby Township?

Here's a list of Shelby donation locations:

  • HPS Advace Dental Care, 24 Mile Road, Shelby Township.
  • Art Van Furniture, 14055 Hall Road, Shelby Township
  • Posh Palace, 55107 Shelby Road, Shelby Township
  • 52588 Van Dyke Avenue, Shelby Township

Toys will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Toys for Tots is organized by the Marine Corps Reserves, which will distribute them to needy children throughout metro Detroit.

To request toys for a child in need or if you would like to provide a toy drop off site, email psmithtoysfortots@gmail.com or call 313-614-9245.

If we missed any Shelby or Utica donation centers, list the location in the comments below.

You can also donate to Toys for Tots at the Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department and the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center. In addition, the Parks & Recreation Department is collecting non-perishabkle food items for the "Feed the Need" program for local families.

I saw you were supporting Toys for Tots and thought I’d send on another simple way to contribute. . . control an ornament decorating robot to generate a $5 donation to Toys for Tots. You can also just "Like" the site to generate $0.25. Super fun and easy. www.thecommunitree.com

Hey, I like that idea! With Utica and Shelby twp. on the edge of Automation Ally, there are plenty of robot manufacturers to choose from. Fanuc, Kuka, Behr, etc are all within 15 minutes of M-59 & M-53. It would be a slick marketing move for any of them to showcase their robots equipped with vision to pick and place ornaments on a "Holiday" tree.
