Utica Riverwalk Festival Returns This June With Added Days, Festivities

The Utica Riverwalk Festival will be held June 12-16 in downtown Utica and will feature a carnival, multiple music stages, fireworks and the rubber piggy race.

Organizers of the Utica Riverwalk Festival announced the popular summer event will return again this year and be held June 12-15 in the city's downtown.

Similar to last year, carnival rides, live entertainment and rubber piggy race along the Clinton River are planned.

Organizers are building on the success of last year, and expanded the number of days and added events to the festival this year include a petting zoo, the Old Mill Art and Crafts Show in Grant Park, canoe races on the Clinton River, one large fireworks display and a classic car show and parade.

Lisa Edwards, marketing director for the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce and Industry which is one of the sponsors of the event, stated the festival is an opportunity to promote downtown park and businesses.

  • Wednesday, June 12: Carnival.
  • Thursday, June 13: Carnival, kids bike parade and petting zoo.
  • Friday, June 14: Carnival, petting zoo, performance by the Meldrum Brothers Band.
  • Saturday, June 15: Carnival, Old Mill Art and Crafts Show in Grant Park, canoe races, rubber piggy race, fireworks and performances by the Joey Vee Band and Monkey Grnder Band.
  • Sunday, June 16: Carnival, classic car show and parade, Old Mill Art and Crafts Show, a performance by Jammin' Jerry and three-piece jazz ensemble from the Macomb Symphony Orchestra.
