Weather Report: Cloudy with a Chance of Snowballs

A look at today's weather and traffic for the holiday weekend.

If you're craving a snowball fight, now is the time – it's perfect packing snow!

Yesterday marked the beginning of on and off snow and rain showers through the holiday weekend, so exercise caution on the roadways.

Friday morning's commute may see increased traffic, as The Weather Channel predicts snow showers in the morning and a mixture of rain and snow in the afternoon. The chance of percipitation is 70 percent with 1-2 inches of snowfall.

The National Weather Service predicts the mixture of rain that follows the snow showers will allow for little to no snow accumulation tomorrow.  Here's the forecast:

Friday: Rain and snow. High near 39. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Friday night: A slight chance of rain and snow before 1 a.m., then a slight chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 28 degress. Northwest wind 3-8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

The holiday weekend looks to be mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
