Friends of Foster Kids 5K Run/Walk & Free Community Event

Cadette Scouts from Shelby Township have been organizing a FREE community awareness event with Friends of Foster Kids on Saturday, May 3rd from 10am-1pm to raise awareness for children placed in foster care in Macomb County.  There are currently about 800 children in foster care in Macomb County alone!

There will be a 5K Run/Walk beginning at 8am (registration at 7am).   RUNNERS & WALKERS ARE NEEDED TO SUPPORT THIS EVENT!  There is a nominal registration fee.   You may register on-line at (by Monday, April 21st):

The FREE community event will take place from 10am - 1pm and will include a magic show at noon, face painting, finger printing by the Shelby Police Department, carnival games, clowns, balloon art and more!

NEW clothing donations (boy/girl pajamas, socks, underwear, clothing) of all sizes (infant to 3XL) will be accepted for the children, as well as pillows, blankets and twin sheets.
