You can help keep people in need a little warmer this holiday season, by donating new mittens and gloves at your local ACO Home, Garden & Hardware store.

The Farmington Hills-based chain has partnered with Mittens for Detroit to support the underprivileged in the communities in which it works.

“Giving back to the community has been one of our priorities since we opened our first store in 1946,” said ACO CEO Dick Snyder. “We have always prided ourselves in being a part of the communities in which we do business and are glad to see this philosophy of paying it forward spread to our staff and customers. We want to help our neighbors.”

Mittens for Detroit is a community initiative that collects and distributes new, unused gloves and mittens to children and adults in Detroit.

The Shelby Township ACO is located at 52891 Shelby Rd.

Mittens for Detroit? How about mittens for the needy of Oakland County? Let Detroit take care of their own.
