Photos: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas in Utica

Utica is ready for the holiday seasons.

The holiday season has officially kicked off in Utica, as officials lit up the city Sunday during the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

While the city has hung its candlelight wreaths around town, many residents have also strung their Christmas lights.

For an enchanting evening, take a stroll downtown to see the homes in the historic district twinkle at night and the bars decorated with holiday cheer.

If you're would like to learn how to take better photos of holiday lights, check out Patch photographer Edward Maurer's article on tricks from the pros.

If you've already hung your holiday lights, send in picture of your home for a chance to win $100,000 for Utica Community Schools in the Patch Deck the Halls holiday contest.
